Please submit a cost proposal to provide Asphalt Concrete Compaction Testing and associated services for an upcoming street improvement construction project on Cherry Avenue and Andel Drive, in Fontana area. The construction work, in general, consists of removing existing concrete curb ramp, curb and gutter, spandrel, cross gutter, and sidewalk; pulverize existing asphalt concrete and stockpile; remove existing asphalt concrete dike; place asphalt over cement treated base; placing asphalt concrete dike; placing concrete curb ramp, curb and gutter, spandrel, cross-gutter, and concrete sidewalk, adjust manhole frames and covers, and doing other work appurtenant thereto. The total construction duration is 90 working days. The construction administration and inspection activities will be performed by the County. Each cost proposal should be broken down and itemized into the following components: 1. Attendance at coordination meetings in the field, if requested by the County (assume 8 occurrence) . 2. Coring and testing of Asphalt Concrete (AC) Pavement. 3. Preparation and submittal of the AC Testing Results. 4. Other related services as deemed necessary. The testing for Â?ASPHALT CONCRETEÂ? shall be performed by obtaining three cores (4Â? or 6Â? in diameter) for every 750 tons of AC. For your information, the Contractor is required to prepare and place 500 tons of AC Test Strip first in accordance with the special provisions, for acceptance by the County before the placement of AC on the rest of the project. The overall AC for the project is estimated at 43,000 tons. The type of test to be performed for AC is the Â?California Test 375,Â? known as, Â?IN-PLACE DENSITY AND RELATIVE COMPACTION OF HOT MIX ASPHALT PAVEMENT USING NUCLEAR GAGES.Â? We require your laboratory to perform the Density and Relative Compaction Testing of the in-situ Asphalt Concrete, which is the field test maximum density. If your firm determines that it need to take the samples to its laboratory, then you could do so through Â?Fabricating Test Specimens and Determining Laboratory Test Maximum Density (LTMD).Â?
